Portland police have arrested a 32-year-old Portland man suspected of a series of armed robberies targeting taverns and bars across the city.

Demetrius E. Hillman was taken into custody early Saturday morning when authorities served a warrant on an address in the 6300 block of Southwest Canyon Court in Portland. The arrest followed a weeks-long investigation into five robberies that occurred between September 16 and October 6, police said.

The robberies took place at various Portland locations, including three sites along North Lombard Street and locations on Northeast 82nd Avenue and Southeast 182nd Avenue.

Hillman -- who, according to court records, was convicted of burglary and robbery in 2013 -- was transported to the Multnomah County Detention Center on Saturday. Police believe h
