PORTLAND, Ore. — A man suspected in a string of armed robberies at Portland taverns this fall was arrested Saturday, police said Monday.

Demetrius E. Hillman, 32, is accused of robbing five businesses over three weeks between Sept. 16 and Oct. 6. The targeted locations — Darcy’s Restaurant and Bar, Pappy’s Bar & Grill, Rockwood Lounge, Perch Tavern and Bluebird Tavern — each reported losing between several hundred and more than a thousand dollars.

The total amount stolen has not been released.

A Multnomah County grand jury indicted Hillman earlier in October on five counts each of first- and second-degree robbery, four counts of first-degree theft and one count of second-degree theft, according to court documents.
