BELLEVUE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The Bellevue mayor issued an apology letter on Saturday after she said she “unknowingly violated an Idaho state election law.”
Christina Giordani stated in her letter that she repurposed a closing statement in a previous city newsletter that asked for votes in the upcoming election. She apologized for unknowingly violating a law that “prohibits the use of public resources for campaign resources.”
“I am deeply remorseful for this mistake and the disappointment it may have caused,” Giordani stated in her letter. “I take full responsibility and will report my error to the Idaho Secretary of State first thing Monday.”
Giordani is running for reelection as Bellevue’s mayor against Suzanne Wrede.
