BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — New trade deals are being discussed at the federal level that could benefit North Dakota farmers.

In today's Eye on Ag and Energy, KX News sat down with Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak to discuss a potential trade deal with China.

Rep. Fedorchak said reports of a potential trade deal between the U.S. and China could spell good news for North Dakota farmers. She said early reports suggest China may agree to purchase American soybeans for years to come, something she said could boost prices and provide stability for producers.

Even though the deal is still being finalized, Fedorchak says the possibility of increased exports has already lifted soybean prices, giving farmers an optimistic outlook on the future.
