The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has confirmed that Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will not be issued on Nov. 1 due to the ongoing government shutdown.

As a result, nearly 830,000 New Jersey residents will go without their SNAP benefits in November – that's roughly 9% of the state's population.
