LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- Construction has begun on a new pedestrian crossing that will connect Chinatown Plaza and Shanghai Plaza, marking the first phase of improvements along Spring Mountain Road designed to enhance pedestrian safety, accessibility, and connectivity in the area.

Monday marked the official start of construction as Clark County Department of Public Works crews began mobilization in one of the most frequented areas in the Chinatown corridor. The new pedestrian crossing will be located on Spring Mountain Road east of Arville Street.

Work hours will generally be Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily, with completion expected within 45 working days.
