RICHMOND, Va. (WAVY) — The Virginia House of Delegates met for a special session Monday to take the first step in revising congressional district lines in the Commonwealth.
Lawmakers and politicians took to the capital Monday afternoon to express their thoughts on the proposed change.
“It's no surprise that this political power grab would come one week before an election," said Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears, running for governor against Democrat Abigail Spanberger. "Virginians, my friends, deserve transparency, fairness and integrity in their elections. They deserve to know that no matter who holds office, their vote will count the same as everyone's."
