MSPs are set to begin examining land reform legislation today.

If approved, the Land Reform (Scotland) Bill would grant ministers the authority to divide large estates being put up for sale under specific circumstances, whilst also seeking to simplify community buyouts.

The Scottish Greens have cautioned that the Bill falls short of what is needed, whilst the Scottish Conservatives have announced their opposition to the legislation, arguing that the powers to split up estates could trigger "class warfare".

Nearly 400 amendments will be debated by MSPs across two lengthy sessions today and tomorrow.
