KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A man from Lincoln County was arrested Tuesday morning after police said he entered two vehicles and stole items in St. Albans.
The 23-year-old man from Branchland is charged with two counts of auto tampering, both misdemeanors, according to a criminal complaint from Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
The complaint states that one of the incidents happened in the 1100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in St. Albans. A neighbor called 911 and said he noticed a prowler on his property.
St. Albans Police said the suspect stole several items from one vehicle and told officers that he was attempting to get money for food and methamphetamine.
Investigators said the man had attempted to get into other vehicles in the area.
