JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. — A James City County fugitive wanted on several firearm offenses and aggravated malicious wounding has been taken into custody by U.S. Marshals in Delaware, James City County police said.
Devonte Gregory Lewis was wanted on charges of aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Early on the morning of Aug. 16, police were called to the 4900 block of Grand Strand Drive, where they discovered a man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to VCU Medical Center after, police said, "life-saving measures were taken." Police have not given an update on the victim's condition.
Lewis was taken into custody on Monday and is currently awaiting extradition to James City County.
