DUGGER, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is hosting open houses this week at several state forests.
Tuesday evening, they held one at the Greene-Sullivan State Forest near Dugger. This event included a guided hike with a chance to learn about outdoor activities and how the forests are managed.
Other open houses will take place on October 29 and 30. Attendees who want to go on these hikes should meet at the forest office for each location.
"It's an opportunity for the public to get out interact with the staff, see what we've done in the past year. And see what we're planning in the upcoming year whether its a construction project, an improvement project to the campground, or even our forest management projects," Assistant Director of Forestry Brad Schneck sai
