The Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office says proposed cuts to its budget could impact staffing and safety, and the recent announcement that the city council will review the budget on a month-to-month basis.
This comes ahead of an administration transition after former Interim Superintendent Michelle Woodfork was elected on Oct. 1. Advertisement
Sheriff Susan Hutson is opposing the proposed $18 million cut to her budget, warning of safety implications.
"This budget will not help improve that. There are going to be some other measures that get cut moving forward," said Hutson.
