BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —

The owners of Slide Cafe said since they’ve opened nearly two years ago in Five Points South, their windows have been busted out five times. Now, one of them is fed up with making police reports about the damage to her restaurant.

Raquel Lenzie said security video shows the most recent time it happened, and she fears it’s going to keep happening unless something is done—or worse—she’ll have to shut down.

Lenzie said she and her staff moved across the breezeway from their old location to their current one in Pickwick Place. With the costs to fix the damage every time it happens, she said she’s not sure how much longer she can stay open to serve her customers.
