PORTLAND, Ore — If you are one of the roughly 757,000 Oregonians about to be impacted by the impending Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits freeze, don't throw away your EBT card.
The Department of Agriculture will not be providing SNAP payments at the start of November, but any unspent benefits that have already been paid to recipients' EBT cards will rollover into next month and still be accessible — despite rumors claiming otherwise .
"In Oregon, any leftover SNAP money on EBT cards WILL be available until the cardholder spends it, even beyond November 1," a spokeswoman for the Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) told KGW.
