MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Memphis Mayor Paul Young announced Friday that many city employees will be getting raises.

In a social media post, Young said all full-time employees will now earn at least $40,000 a year. He also said that he'd be pushing for a 2% raise for the fire department, adding it will be discussed at the next Memphis City Council meeting.

FOX13 previously reported that the Memphis Fire Department was promised a 5% raise this year but only got 3%. The fire union ended up suing the city.
