ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - On Tuesday, St. Louis Mayor Cara Spencer announced that certain city workers can expect to see pay bumps soon.

The announcement came during Mayor Spencer’s press conference on the findings of a compensation and classification study for the City of St. Louis. The mayor said that the study showed the City was behind the market in pay range minimums and more competitive at the higher ends.

As a result, Mayor Spencer proposed increasing the minimum pay range for civil service positions. According to Mayor Spencer, the proposal would give raises to about 600 non-uniformed civil employees and 600 uniformed fire department employees.
