MINOT, ND (KXNET) — With the holiday season approaching, the Minot Area Chamber EDC is continuing their work in helping airmen see their families. The chamber is launching its third year of Operation Homebound.
This community-funded program helps Minot Air Force Base airmen and women travel home to see their families during the holidays.
Since the program began in 2023, more than 250 airmen have been able to go home, and so far this year, nearly 70 airline tickets have already been booked for this holiday season.
Previously known as Home for the Holidays, this rebrand reflects their mission of supporting first-term service members who may not be able to afford holiday travel, the chamber's military liaison Keli Rosselli-Sullivan said.
"It's expensive to fly out of Minot, and they don't
