INDIANA — Indiana residents who enjoy fruit as part of a healthy diet are urged to check their refrigerators immediately, as a major nationwide recall has prompted several grocery chains in the state to pull potentially contaminated peaches from their shelves.
The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) is alerting the public to Moonlight Companies’ voluntary recall of yellow and white peaches due to the potential presence of Listeria monocytogenes , the bacterium that causes li steriosis.
The recalled fruit was sold at numerous major retail stores in Indiana and across the country, including Walmart, Sam’s Club, Trader Joe’s, Target, Kroger, Sprouts, and Costco.
