LOUISVILLE, Ky. — One of the bridges between Kentucky and Indiana will be closed Friday night.
A Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesperson said I-65 South on the John F. Kennedy Memorial Bridge will be closed from 8 p.m. on Friday to 10 a.m. the next day so crews can perform steel repair under the roadway. Every lane on I-65 South will be closed just past Exit 1 to U.S. 31 South in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
The closure is to ensure the bridge doesn't move while crews do the repair work, the spokesperson said. Crews will also finish striping the recently installed high friction surface treatment just south of the bridge.
Drivers should plan to detour by taking I-265 West to I-64 East to reconnect with I-65 South, according to the spokesperson.
This closure is part of a bigger project
