GREENVILLE, S.C. —
An investigation conducted by the Greenville County Sheriff's Office found a deputy was justified in his use of deadly force during an officer-involved shooting in late September.
The deputy has been taken off paid administrative leave and cleared to return to full duty service, according to a spokesperson with the police department. A briefing released by the sheriff's office on Wednesday morning includes body camera footage and a 911 emergency call from the incident, which occurred between the deputy and 44-year-old Johnny Ray Moore on Sept. 28.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, alongside the 13th Circuit Solicitor's Office, will continue a third-party investigation to determine whether the officer's actions were justified according to state policies and
