A drug dealer has been jailed after he was stopped by officers in Middlesbrough . Ribaz Nawzad was driving on Linthorpe Road when he was stopped by police following intelligence from the public.

The 34-year-old was searched, along with his vehicle, and officers located cash and several mobile phones. Following the stop in February 2025, officers from Redcar Proactive Team also discovered a black bag down the side of driver’s seat which contained crack cocaine and two knives.

Nawzad, of Baff Street, Spennymoor, was arrested and taken into custody where he was questioned and dealt with by Middlesbrough’s Proactive Team. He was arrested and charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, possession of a bladed article, drug driving and no insurance.
