MINOT, ND (KXNET) — A local food pantry in Minot has seen a 35% increase in families utilizing their services this past month. In this month's KX Gives Back, KX News' Megan Topping brought lunch and got to know the people who work and volunteer at the Lord's Cupboard.
In 2012, one group came together with the main focus of nurturing, guiding, and serving all people and their unmet needs throughout the community.
What started as the Welcome Table Minot, became the Lord's Cupboard in 2015 when the board of directors restructured its focus towards being a food pantry.
Now, the pantry is seeing what they say are some of their largest numbers they've ever had.
"We had over 150 today, which meant that it was steady, and these people are very appreciative," volunteer Myrna DeMers said. "This
