The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory at 1:10 a.m. on Thursday in effect until 8 a.m. for Manhattan, the Bronx, Staten Island, Brooklyn and Queens as well as Nassau County.
The weather service adds to prepare for, "Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts 45 to 55 mph. Localized higher gusts up to 60 mph possible."
"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result," adds the weather service. "Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects."
