A dog has died in a house blaze.
Crews were called to a fire in Goudhurst Road, Gillingham , just before 11pm last night (November 6).
Two fire engines were sent to the scene and were joined by volunteers from the rapid response team.
They spent two hours at the property battling the blaze with hose reel jets and left the scene at around 1am.
A spokesman for the fire service said it is believed the fire started in the living room.
“One person suffered smoke inhalation, and sadly, a dog died at this incident,” they added.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
