GLENVILLE, W.Va. — The Pioneer Shooting Club at Glenville State University recently hosted its annual Breast Cancer Awareness Auction, raising $1,500 for cancer patients in the Gilmer County community.
The Oct. 7 event featured a great turnout of bidders, with over 25 items auctioned off, making it the club's most successful auction to date.
The total funds were donated to the First Baptist Church of Glenville Cancer Fund. A check ceremony was held Nov. 4, at the church, with representatives including Pastor John Putnam present for the reception, where he offered encouraging words.
Club Advisor and Associate Professor of Criminal Justice Dr. Donal Hardin praised the initiative.
