PANOLA COUNTY, Miss. - A Mississippi attorney found himself on the wrong side of the law on Halloween night.

The Panola County Sheriff's Office charged Panola County Attorney Gaines Baker with driving under the influence after a crash on October 31.

A spokesperson for the sheriff's office said the crash happened on Bell Road in Panola County and that Baker was the only driver involved in the crash. Deputies said they found the county attorney sitting in the passenger seat of the car following the crash, but authorities later determined that Baker had been driving at the time of the wreck.

Deputies believed Baker to be under the influence of alcohol and gave Baker a field sobriety test. The sheriff's office said that Baker also attempted to take a breathalyzer but was unable to provide a
