MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A man wanted in a shooting death from 2020 has been arrested after over five years on the run, the Memphis Police Department said.
According to a post on their Facebook page, 34-year-old Monkeil Wright was arrested Friday for multiple violent crimes, and has been charged with:
Voluntary Manslaughter
Employment of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony
Aggravated assault
Aggravated rape
Aggravated kidnapping
Domestic assault--bodily harm
According to court documents, the initial warrant for Wright's arrest for the manslaughter and firearm charges was issued in June of 2020.
