Three teenagers accused of killing a 49-year-old man on a Sheppey beach have today pleaded not guilty to murder.
Appearing at Maidstone Crown Court by video link, the 16-year-old girl and two boys aged 14 and 16 denied the charge in relation to the death of Alexander Cashford in the early evening of Sunday, August 10.
Having spoken to confirm their names, each entered their plea when the offence was put to them by the court clerk.
Their legal teams then informed Judge Julian Smith that they accept being present but deny any intent to cause really serious harm.
The court was also told that causation of death was still "a live issue" with the prosecution awaiting a final pathology report in what was described as a "complicated" case.
