CIRCLEVILLE, W.Va. — An active fire is being battled by US Forest Service Crews in the Monongahela National Forest, according to Pendleton County WV Office of Emergency Management/911.
As of Thursday morning, USFS advised the fire had consumed around 100 acres and was at 30% containment.
USDA Forest Service fire managers on the Monongahela National Forest were notified Wednesday of a wildfire, which started near Circleville in the Cheat-Potomac Ranger District, according to a social media post.
The Woodside Wildfire is about 50 acres in size, and the fire was 30% contained as of 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Fire crews were reported to continue building containment lines through this evening and into the night.
Smoke may be visible in Circleville, Thornwood, and surrounding communities, as well
