The families of the three girls murdered in the Southport attack say the killer’s parents should be held to account for “what they allowed to happen”.
Axel Rudakubana’s parents apologised to them during the inquiry into the attack, but Elsie Dot Stancombe’s parents said their statements revealed “a failure of parenting on a whole new level”.
Earlier, his father told the inquiry he was ashamed he hadn’t had the courage to report his son to the police.
