BUFFALO, N.Y. — The people who run the Broadway Market have a warning for small business owners about a potential scam. It involves a fake event.
This warning went out thanks to a woman who called the Broadway Market not wanting to be scammed. Because of that phone call, hopefully other business owners won't fall for it.
The woman asked about the Holiday Extravaganza saying she saw a Facebook post trying to get money from vendors who sign-up.
"We have a great holiday event in December, but we don't call it Holiday Extravaganza," said Kathleen Peterson, Broadway Market manager.
So on Monday, the Broadway Market posted a warning on Facebook telling people there was no Holiday Shopping Extravaganza on Dec. 20 or 21 saying, "we believe this post was created to scam vendors into sending m
