CHESTER TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WOIO) - A contractor is accused of stealing a credit card from a Geauga County senior citizen and spending more than $8300.00.
Chester Township police said Alejandro Rangel Moreno, 35, had been hired to do work at the resident’s home.
Moreno allegedly used the credit card in Cleveland, Ohio City, and Columbus for nearly 14 transactions.
Police said Moreno would sometimes wear a mask when purchasing the items.
Moreno now faces multiple charges:
Theft
Identity theft
Misuse of credit cards
Receiving stolen property
Police added Moreno’s immigration status is also under review by federal authorities. Moreno is a Mexican national.
