CLEVELAND — The first snow of the season is expected to arrive in Northeast Ohio early next week, which means ODOT crews are gearing up to make sure the roads are safe and clear when the flakes start flying.
The wintry weather is expected to start moving in Sunday with rain before temperatures drop heading into Monday. Because of that initial rain, Amanda McFarland of ODOT said Friday that their crews won’t be pretreating the roads since the wet weather would wash it all away.
“When looking at the pavement temperatures, they are still well above freezing," McFarland added. "They’re in the 45-50 degree range, so pretreating isn’t really necessary when it is that warm. They may do the bridge decks because those are the areas that tend to freeze first because the cold air is above and bel
