Emergency services descended on an Edinburgh street this afternoon after a pedestrian was struck by a tram.

Fire crews, police and paramedics were called to Constitution Street in Leith at around 1.35pm following reports of "someone underneath a tram".

The pedestrian has been injured, although the extent of their injuries remains unknown.

Constitution Street was closed at the junction with Queen Charlotte Street, with Edinburgh Trams confirming the incident occurred near the stop at The Shore. The road was reopened at about 3.15pm. 16:51 KEY EVENT
