LEWISBURG, Pa. — In the kitchen at Heng Ji Chinese restaurant in Lewisburg, manager Jacky Liao is busy cooking one of his many lunch specials, broccoli chicken. Liao is a jack of all trades in the restaurant; not only does he cook, but he also runs the front counter and serves the food to customers.
Last week, Liao launched a $6 lunch special to support community members who may be on the federal food assistance programs.
"Food stamps have stopped, so I want to help the people, and the city of New York, same thing, there's a lot of people that don't have any food," said Jacky Liao, Heng Ji Manager.
Liao says people are hungry and need healthy, fresh food. He says he offers a lot of different food at the restaurant and it will be offering a rotating daily special for the lunch. "Like bro
