SOMERS, Conn. — One person is in critical condition after a three-car crash that closed Route 190 in Somers Friday night and sent two additional people to the hospital with minor injuries, the town’s fire department said.

LifeStar was dispatched to the crash site around 7:45 p.m. to transport one driver, who remains in critical condition, to a regional trauma center.

Connecticut State Police tell FOX61 that the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad is investigating the incident. Routh 190 is expected to be closed in both directions overnight between Shaker Road and Columbia Road in Enfield.

Alongside Connecticut State Police, Somers Fire Chief David Lenart said that Hazardville and Enfield emergency personnel assisted in their response.
