ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM)-Showers begin to dissipate tonight, leaving mostly cloudy skies with overnight lows near 42 degrees. Surface high pressure allows for Saturday to be free of rain in the daytime. Rain returns overnight into Sunday, as another low-pressure system tracks east. Showers pick up once again in the afternoon and evening on Sunday, with light showers and periods of rain throughout the day. As cold air drops into the Twin Tiers, snow can begin to fall overnight on Sunday, into Monday. Scattered rain and snow showers, and light flurries continue through the mid-week.
