RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A woman is recovering in the hospital after surviving being hit by a tractor-trailer early Saturday morning in northeast Raleigh.

According to the Raleigh Police Department, officers reported to the scene just before 6:30 a.m. at the 3700 block of Capital Boulevard in front of Circle K.

They found the woman conscious and alert, and able to speak with the responding officer before being taken to a nearby hospital by an ambulance.

Officers said the truck driver stayed at the scene. The investigation is in its early stages, police told CBS 17, to determine any fault as the investigation remains active.

A notification from the North Carolina Department of Transportation alerted drivers that part of Capital Boulevard is closed near Greywood Drive for most of Saturday
