A Scouts group raising funds for the RBLI has been left in disbelief after poppies put up on lampposts were stolen.
Last night, 46 mementoes put up in City Way, Rochester, were taken just over 24 hours before Remembrance Sunday.
It comes after around 30 children of the 21st Medway Scout Group spent the day last Wednesday (October 29) putting them up along the 1.7-mile stretch of road.
There are a total of 79 lamp posts, with two poppies put on each.
Group lead volunteer, Sverre Sperreson, said: “Late last night, somebody mentioned that they could see six lampposts without poppies, so they put that into our WhatsApp chat.
“This morning, we went out to replace those six lampposts and found that actually all of the lampposts from the George pub all the way up to the very top of City Way
