HENDERSON, Ken. (WFIE) - A day of appreciation and relaxation in Henderson today as local groups came together to say thank you to the people who keep the community safe.

The third annual Horses for Heroes Day of Appreciation was held this afternoon at the Rolling Hills Equestrian Center.

First responders, law enforcement, veterans and their families were all invited to enjoy an afternoon on the farm.

It was complete with hayrides, kids’ games, and of course, plenty of time with the horses.

The free event was organized by the Center, Healing Reins of Kentucky, and the Henderson County Public Library.

Organizers say it’s all about giving back.
