A winter weather advisory was released by the National Weather Service on Monday at 2:07 a.m. valid from 10 a.m. until Tuesday 1 p.m. for McKean and Elk counties.
"Total snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches possible," explains the weather service. "There will be flurries and light snow during the day today with accumulations up to an inch possible by sunset. However, the majority of snowfall is expected to fall between Monday night and late Tuesday morning."
"Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday evening and Tuesday morning commutes," comments the weather service. "During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can also vary greatly. Be prepared for rapid changes
