The Maricopa Association of Governments is nearing the end of an improvement study for US 60 between Loop 303 and State Route 74.

The open house will take place 6:30-8 p.m. Nov. 13 at Asante Preparatory Academy, 23251 N. 166th Drive in Surprise.

MAG has prepared a series of recommendations for the project working in partnership with Surprise and Peoria, the Arizona Department of Transportation and the Maricopa County Department of Transportation.

“While rapid population growth in the Northwest Valley has been a boost for the region’s economy it has also created challenges for drivers who travel along the US 60 (Grand Avenue) between Loop 303 and SR 74,” MAG officials stated in a release.

In 2020, the study area had a population of less than 37,000 people. Today, it has reached 50,000.
