GRISWOLD, CT (WFSB) - Officials confirmed a Connecticut state trooper was arrested after a domestic incident on Wednesday in Griswold.

The trooper was identified as Edward Joshua Gookin, 37, from Griswold.

According to state police, there was a domestic disturbance between Gookin and a woman around 10:21 a.m. inside a home.

Officials said Gookin was the primary aggressor in the incident.

This was reported as a verbal and physical altercation, however no injuries were reported.

The state trooper is facing disorderly conduct charges.

He was released on a $2,500 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.

State police confirmed Trooper Gookin currently is assigned to clerical duties with police powers suspended.
