CHERRY POINT, N.C. (WITN) - The legendary U.S. Navy Blue Angels roared into Cherry Point Air Station for their winter visits.
Pilots Lt. Commander Lilly Montana and Lt. Ronny Hafeza flew in from Pensacola Thursday morning with one mission: to get preparations ready for Cherry Point’s air show next year.
“This is our first stop! We’ll visit each one of our 32 show sites for the upcoming 2026 show season. We’ll meet with air show organizers, airfield representatives, community leaders, and any invested partners to make this airshow happen,” Lt. Commander Montana said.
The air station’s commanding officer, Colonel Timothy Dreslein, says Cherry Point is excited to host the air show.
He calls it a vital opportunity to connect with eastern North Carolinians.
