CRAVEN COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A man is being held without bond after violating a court order that prohibited him from having animals during an ongoing felony animal cruelty investigation.
Nicholas Midgette turned himself in on felony animal cruelty charges after Craven County Animal Protective Services executed a search warrant on October 30th at 310 John Street.
The investigation began on October 17th when APS conducted an animal welfare check at the home.
Officers say they found a severely injured dog, now named “Mixtape,” who required immediate medical attention and hospitalization due to the extent of his injuries.
During the October 30th search, APS took all the dogs found at the home.
