One person dead following a fight outside a liquor store

FALL RIVER, Mass. —

Fall River police responded to a call for men fighting outside Leonard’s Package Store on Pleasant Street Saturday afternoon, around 4:30 p.m. When police arrived, officers found Taiquan Teixeira, 31, of Fall River, on the ground, unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. Texeira was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.

The incident is being investigated by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit, the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, and the Fall River Police Department.
