A Long Island home health aide allegedly stabbed her sleeping elderly patient with a chef’s knife and held the blade in her body for an “excruciating” 16 minutes, according to prosecutors.

Amanda Fraser, 23, was indicted on attempted murder charges for allegedly stabbing her 84-year-old patient as she slept in her Massapequa home in the early hours of Oct. 29, Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly announced Friday.

Fraser, of Queens, allegedly entered the unidentified woman’s home around 2:08 a.m. and walked into her bedroom before forcefully plunging an eight-inch blade into her torso, an investigation and video evidence revealed.

The elderly patient woke up, “moaning in pain,” and tried to remove the knife from her body, authorities added.
