Mr. Abe Klassen of Rosthern has just been awarded the top prize for the most delicious, most noble peas in the world.
“Just look at those green plump peas, slathered in butter,” said judge Bjorn Grunerud of Olso. “These are exactly the sort of peas we want to spread all across the globe.”
Mr. Klassen will be at hand at the ceremony later this fall where his peas will be featured in a casserole along with some delicious carrots and mashed potatoes.
“I’ve been working on these peas for decades,” said Mr. Klassen. “My Tina tries to help out in the garden sometimes, but these are very personal peas. It’s a quiet peas really.”
