MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WSMV) - Two people were arrested after they allegedly tried to elude police following a traffic stop on Sunday night, according to the Mt. Juliet Police Department.
Mt. Juliet officers reportedly tried to stop a vehicle on Golden Bear Gateway for an improperly displayed license plate. The department said the driver attempted to drive away, but officers were able to box the vehicle in as it entered I-40.
The officers discovered that the driver, a 38-year-old woman from Kingston Springs, was driving on an indefinitely suspended license. She was arrested and charged with felony evading, according to the report.
The passenger was a 40-year-old Nashville man, who gave officers a false identity during the stop, MJPD said. However, further investigation revealed that he was
