A Miami Lakes attorney was arrested after being accused of battering an elderly victim, records showed.

Phillip Ortiz, 38, was charged with aggravated battery on a person 65 or older, Miami-Dade Jail records showed.

Details on Ortiz's arrest remain limited, but Miami Police told NBC6 that the FBI is investigating the incident.

Florida Bar records show that Ortiz was admitted in 2012 and is still eligible to practice law in the state.
